Gold Jewellery Thefts

Gold Jewellery Thefts

Good morning the Paddock, Delves and Pleck neighbourhood team are sending out this message regards Gold jewellery thefts.

Over the past 3-4 weeks we have had several reports of elderly male and female members of the public being targeted for gold jewellery. Each report is currently being investigated. The MO is that a group of offenders ( mainly female but on one occasion a male was involved ) pull up in a vehicle and befriend the victim and make conversation on each occasion the victim has been on there own.. As the victim leans towards the offender in the vehicle they will either try to snatch the bracelet/chain which victim may have on the around there neck or snatch the bracelet from there wrist and then make a good escape..

Different vehicles for the offences have been used.

Similar offences have occurred in various locations in West Midlands.

Just be mindful of the above, if possible go out in pairs, if the above does happen speak from a distance and not close up to the window.

Residents and neighbourhood watch have been supporting police with incidents reported which is greatly appreciated.

This message has been sent out to make our communities aware.
